Palatalik the vacation that has it all
Huge windows provide dramatic vistas of Lake Atitlán and its surrounding volcanoes.

Palatalik is a gorgeous new lakeside house on Lake Atitlán in the mountains of western Guatemala. Designed by a Guatemalan architect and built by local craftsmen, it’s a bright, spacious, multi-level, 3 bedroom, 2 full bathroom home with an open floor plan, three terraces, an outdoor shower with a view of two volcanoes, and a private dock. Palatalik has an enormous, fully-equipped kitchen and generous sleeping space for 9.

The walking path lets you sample the views along the north shore.

Like activity and adventure? Hike on the walking path to one of the many villages around the lake. Rent kayaks at Los Elementos, a 5 minute walk from the house. Take the boat to the Reserva Naturál in Pana and ride the zip lines 90 meters above the forest floor. Go across the lake to San Pedro and ride horses up the volcano.

Palatalik can offer a peaceful refuge.

Prefer a more restful vacation? Mix a drink and make yourself comfortable with a good book on one of the many terraces, or swim from the private dock. Walk to Los Elementos for a massage. Or call Belle, a yoga instructor in Jaibalito, and have her come teach a class at the house.

Trees and gardens surround you at Palatalik.

The house is private and secluded, accessible only by water taxi from nearby Panajachel, yet it’s just a short walk to restaurants and internet cafés in Santa Cruz or Jaibalito.

The private pier lets you enjoy the lake any time.

Whether you’re looking for an active, adventure-filled vacation, a restful retreat ... or a little of both, you can find something for the whole family at Palatalik.
